A brief history of the school

TJHSST is a school that started in 1985. The school is supported by the Virginia Department of Education and is created in a partnership with business and industry for enhanced learning in the field of science, math and technology. In 2017, the school was completely renovated as per modern-age needs.

About TJHSST

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology was built with an intention to educate the students as well as improve their creative thinking and problem-solving skills which is crucial in this day and age.

Students are taught in the best environment where academic learning is blended with practical world experience and analyse how they interact as a whole. The school also takes efforts to help students understand the global languages and diverse cultures across the world.

School facilities

Apart from high-class education, the school also offers additional learning like literature, music, arts that develop the students creatively. Brief history about the school

In 2007, Daniel and Karen Pritzker planned to come up with a model school to offer exceptional education and build the future of children in rural areas. They analysed that Siem Reap, Cambodia was the perfect location to start with the school and help the rural village to make their entry in universities of their respective region and also abroad.

With this intention, the foundation of the school was laid in 2008 and this is when the learning process in a top-class facility started.

About school

Jay Pritzker Academy is set on 11 hectares of a verdant area and all classrooms are in the midst of a pleasant environment. Every classroom is spacious, airy and clean. The academy is well-equipped with all necessary educational items to offer world-class education facilities to the students. This school is an initiative to improve the future of the families and country of Cambodia.

School campus

The school is located around 30 minutes west of Siem Reap. The academy is surrounded by sugar palms and rice paddies which make the ambience fresh. The lower school is standing in the middle of lush lawns and flower trees while the medium school is between high and low school. From every classroom, students can spot tranquil views of nature and outside every classroom students’ work is put on display.

Apart from a world-class education, the school also offers various facilities for the growth of students in every aspect of life. Students here are served with nutritious meals for healthy living, they have library facilities and to lighten up the learning environment there are also board games. Students are also taught computers and are given technology knowledge.

Curriculum

Preschool to prepare for college, Jay Pritzker Academy takes the responsibility to shape the future of every student. English language skills, complex vocabulary, textbook learning, basic and advanced grammar, composition, literature, physics, chemistry, biology, theory as well as practical teaching, microeconomics, macroeconomics, computer science, calculus are taught here. Apart from all these, the students are also prepared for the interview that will help them to get their dream job.
